The trials, the years, the journey, the triumphs, and the losses. What if it’s all gold?
A cavernous mine of gold the we can now tap, unearth and mine out to share with others and make a difference in them and for them?
None of it wasted, all of it of value, great lessons and gifts on our beautiful adventure of becoming.
Discovery and exploration that reveal alchemy, and how our trials and ordinary days, have been turned to gold. Alignment so great, that we refuse to be deterred from it. A deep sense of dedication and commitment to mastery of our craft and genius, rooted and connected to our most valued community and tribe, determined to leave a legacy behind that will outlive and outlast us.
What if it's all gold? And the difficulties we've endured, the struggles, hardship and adversity, have really been the proving ground of character and willingness to stop at nothing, and go all in.
All the possibility that awaits, all the opportunity that beckons, all the transformation that is ours is not somewhere out there. It's right here, in this goldmine glistening with gems of wisdom and understanding, knowledge and know-how, experience and insight.
The ancient poet, Rumi, wrote, "You wander from room to room hunting for the diamond necklace already around your neck." We have been blessed and equipped with all we need, but because it didn't arrive the way we thought it would, we have dismissed it. And instead, we keep looking, like Dorothy. "You've had the power all along, my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself."
God has blessed each of us with gifts and strengths given to, in turn, bless others. Even the greatest of challenges have fortified us and galvanized our vision and longing. And, especially now at midlife, we are more dedicated than ever to see it all the way through to fruition.
Let's be encouraged that we have endured with great tenacity and resilience, twin traits that flank us as we go. Let's remember that we are not alone. We have God and we have each other. Let us not overlook that everything that has come our way is not by accident or coincidence, but instead by Providence, and part of the sum total of our lives.
What if it's truly all gold? Every single thing, every choice, every step woven together to create this most beautiful labyrinth and pathway that we walk, discovering, uncovering and recovering the hidden gold that has been wrought in us through the years.
What if it's all gold?
