Your brilliance is your light. It's your gift. You're given it from birth. Many times, we do all kinds of other things with our lives and our business and we skip around and dance around our brilliance.
It's that genius in you, it's that thing that you do, that you love, that you are just amazing at, so I want to encourage you to walk in your brilliance. It is a unique differentiator for you in the marketplace and you could have the same business as several other people, but because you are willing to walk in your brilliance and standing your genius, that's going to set you apart.
So we've been talking about that all along. That's the whole point of rocking your vibe, especially at midlife. We want to be doing things that are unique to us. Our tribe in the Sage Success Studio online Facebook community hovers between closer to 50 and then on the other side of 60, 65, up to 70.
I'm encouraged that there are women at midlife doing dynamic things, really excited about the stuff that they're involved in and, want to make an amazing impact in the world. The thing about it is, at this age, it's not that we don't want to make amazing money. We do, but we're very aware of time. We want to make sure that we leave something behind that outlives and outlasts us; a legacy. So you're going to be able to do that by totally grooving in your brilliance.
Be who you were created to be.
I talk about all the time. It's the willingness to live in audacious alignment, crazy congruence and to be 100 percent YOU. Now this takes time, but the older we get, the less willing we are to a play around and keep sidelining that, that keeps kind of coming back into our lives. And if we're smart and we're awake to what we're going to grab hold of it and we're going to grab hold of genius and let go of excellence.
Light the way through authenticity, tenacity and love for your tribe Here's what I know. There is no straight path in entrepreneurship at all. Anyone who was watching this, I am sure you would agree with me, whether you're live with me or in the replay or you see this somewhere down the line. There's no straight path. So what you have to do is kind of like switch back and zig zag and you kind of go back and go forward and go back and go forward. And sometimes it feels like you've gone back farther than you've got bored, but you have it. You're really just accumulating more knowledge, more experience, more expertise and it's helping you get where you want to go.
Always be Learning! Leaders are Learners
We are well aware, especially in this season of life, that leaders are learners. I'm a learner before I'm a leader. So if you are a leader, you want people to come follow you. You have got to make sure you are staying on the cutting edge, the uptake of information and really being okay to let go of what doesn't serve you. Outsource and get rid of everything that lives outside your domain. Then you can learn what is in alignment to you as you just keep , expanding your ability to serve the people that you love and to stay completely in alignment with your greatest and best work.
Zigzag your way to the top!
Next, zigzag your way to the top--one basecamp at a time. It's not one big jump but a gradual ascent toward what we most want to do in the world. Here's what I know. There is no straight path in entrepreneurship at all. Anyone reading this, I am sure you would agree with me. You move forward as up a mountain in a switch back and zig zag and you go back and go forward, evolving and becoming. And sometimes it feels like you've gone back farther than you've moved forward. You're really just accumulating more knowledge, more experience, more expertise.
I'm not going to go from the end of 2018 and zoom to the top of 2019. I'm going to stairstep my way there I am going to go from base camp to base camp to the summit. I'm going to zig zag my way there. They're going to be things that make me show up in visibility, then pull back a little bit in obscurity as I create and uplevel, back and forth until I get my way there.
Encourage others to do the same so that you help create a tribe of more leaders
Encourage others to do the same so that you continue to help other people become leaders. Yes, we want followers as we build a tribe, but we want also build a tribe of leaders or followers. We want these people to be completely who they are meant to be, so I want to encourage you to encourage them that if you are blazing a trail with your brilliance, you're going to allow them to do the same thing.
Some days were riding high, other days things aren't so great, but it all kind of comes down to us showing up consistently to showing up in our brilliance. How exciting! You're blazing a trail for other people to follow.
John Maxwell says, "Want to know if you're a leader? Look behind you. If nobody's following you, you're just taking a walk."
So in order to be a great leader, you've got to continue to be a great learner. You've got to come with your vulnerability and you've just got to consistently show up day after day, week after week and month after month. I'm honored to be in the company of women who are brave enough to step into their brilliance and blaze a trail for others!
